Not only is this year zooming on by but June has just disappeared in the blink of an eye. I feel a bit cheated with 2017, to be honest as up until May I’d been very sick and still recovering. Who knew your intestines took so long to recover from surgery? It’s not very often I have a super busy week, part of that is planning and part of that is happenstance. But the last two week’s of June have been super busy and I’ve actually really enjoyed it.
What’s been going on:
We (my hubby and I) started the month off with a long trip from Huddersfield to Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham. Which is just outside of Hull which is where I had my Endometriosis surgery and I was finally well enough to travel to the post-surgery appointment. I think I’m going to do a separate post on this so I’m just going to say, all results came back as stage 4 Endometriosis and they patiently answered all my questions and got the all clear for now.
I took on a new client which is the first new client since I’ve had surgery and fills me with glee. I do enjoy the work I do and helping others makes me happy.
I did lots of walking during June and hit 18,000 steps several times this month but it takes me two days to recover from doing that many steps but I’m so glad that I’ve reached that level where I can actually do that many steps now as back in February, I was lucky if I could do 100 steps without exhausting myself.
We finally got our follow-up Dr’s appointment after two previous cancellations so it took a couple of extra weeks to get the appointment and it felt so good to be able to get this appointment. More about this soon too!
I reconnected with an old University friend and we met up on a very gloomy Sunday, and it was so good to see him and reconnect. It’s been about four years since we’ve seen each other so honestly, it was so good to reconnect and catch up.
My husband finally turned 31! It was not the best day for me because I overdid it and exhausted myself and started coming down with a cold but that means we turned his birthday into a five-day event instead which was helped out with both our families coming to visit. His birthday was Wednesday, Thursday his family came to visit, his folks left Friday and his brother Saturday then Sunday my Mum and Step-Dad came to visit with more presents and although Ryan’s not a big birthday person I think he enjoyed the extra time celebrating because… family! Then he was on holiday for a week!
I had four appointments at my Dr’s in two weeks. Which I don’t know if that’s a lot but for me, that felt like a lot. I had my prostrap injection, an emergency appointment for a water infection, an appointment because my lump aka my lymph node that won’t go away, has gotten bigger and I need to get another scan to check on it and another appointment to get my HTR patches but now there’s lots of back and forth with my G.P. Dr and my Endo Dr so it could be another week or two before I actually get my patches to help with my hot flashes. Menopause sucks guys! I finally got some healthy bacteria tablets for my gut but I’ve not been using them for long. I’m still taking medication for my lack of vitamin D deficiency, five more weeks to go! I also caught a really bad cold which felt like flu and I lost my voice for the weekend when we had family visiting which wasn’t ideal but you can’t plan when you get sick. Sadly.
I’ve started planning the next quarter of my business. I really like planning 90 days at a time as I’ve tried planning a year at a time but it just doesn’t work for me because things change so much and I need more flexibility in my business so planning 90 days, which is each quarter, then via the month, works well for me. Jen Carrington writes a really good post about planning your year, quarter, month and week.
I’m absolutely loving the redesign of my website! Do you love it? I’m seriously happy with it myself and love all the branding aka colours and logo. It makes me so happy when I see it! Also the weather it’s possible the first summer in two years I’ve actually gotten to enjoy and I am seriously loving it. Yes, I might still have our fan on 80% of the time because hot sweats via the prostrap injection are truly awful but at least I’ve been enjoying my summer outside of the bathroom for once!
Over the last month or two actually, I’ve become addicted to Clusters with chocolate and Alpro Vanilla yoghurt. Sometimes together and sometimes with other things. I’ve also been loving Lidl’s pulled pork on those hot summer days, especially when I don’t have to cook!
