Giving Back

Hello! It’s been a while and for that I am sorry! I took a break over the summer to connect with family and work with my coach Lily which was amazing and epic. Then in September we sadly lost Evie and moved into our own house just outside of Manchester and since the move, I’ve been flaring up a lot and after 300 days I got my period which has shifted everything again for me. And while my life has been changing and shifting I’ve been letting fear hold me back. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know I have no problem showing up as myself but showing up as my business and as a business owner, it’s something I’ve really struggled with.

Even now over 4 years after starting my own business I’ve found it hard to stand up and say ‘hey I’m self-employed and run my own business’. It was never in my plans you see from being in school to college and university I never thought or saw myself running my own business I had no clue how to go about it or what I’d even sell. Part of that was because I always thought you had to sell a product. Which by the way you don’t. Unless you want too of course.

But it wasn’t until I was in such a position where I felt I had nothing to lose and everything to gain that I started my own business. To start with I found it easy but the more clients I gained and the more money I earnt the harder I found it. I made plenty of mistakes and I, of course, have a few horror stories which taught me a lot and I do plan on sharing what I learnt from those horror stories at a later date but some of those horror stories really knocked my confidence and set me back in my business. And I’ve just found it easier to talk about living with my chronic illness and endometriosis than I have talking and promoting my business.

Which is sad because I’ve honestly had some awesome experiences running my own business and I’ve also had the pleasure of working with some honestly awesome, amazing and inspiring clients. So I’m stripping back my life and business to find the joy and awesome experiences again, because right now that’s what’s really important to me, finding the joy in my business and focusing on my health right now.
But I’ve also learnt so much in these 4 years and I really want to give back. I’ve worked with some amazing coaches over the years and they have been so helpful but not everyone is in my position of being able to work with a coach to create a life and business they desire because coaches charge what they’re worth and are often aiming for 5/6K months so it does mean that sometimes working with someone to help can be really outside your price zone when you’re sick so I’m going to be sharing more about starting, running and growing your own business. Which means right now guest episodes are officially on hiatus until 2020. I have a few lovely ladies already lined up to talk about living, laughing and loving with their illnesses and creating peace, passion and purpose in their businesses that I’m really excited to record in January. If by the way you have an illness and a business and want to be a guest on the podcast just DM on Instagram @allygracemuir and let me know.

In the meantime, I’ll be sharing more about stripping back my life and business along with starting, running and growing a business with a chronic illness and as always there will be more on chronic illness living and a few pep talks sprinkled in too! I hope you’re well and are excited for the next part of Continuously Brave!
